ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Brendan McCarthy grew up in west London and spent his teenage years in the legendary Hanwell Dream Gang, an endless source of outlandish ideas and schemes.

He studied Painting at Chelsea School of Art and decided to become a full time artist and writer.

This kicked off a career as a maverick comic book artist during the 1980s, and he co-created and illustrated many famous titles such as Strange Days, Freakwave, Skin, Summer of Love, Paradax! and Rogan Gosh.

Designs for MTV pop promos led to film work and most of the 1990s were spent in the new and innovative field of computer animation, most notably as the production designer for the ground-breaking TV series Reboot.

All roads lead to Hollywood, and Brendan was invited to co-write and design the new Mad Max movie, Fury Road.
In 2003 he created, wrote and designed his own computer animated feature length film, Fur Brigade.

The last few years have been a prolific period and many new and thrilling ideas such as HatMan, Horrorville, The Fabulous Dreamtrees and Travesty await production.

His vision of creating a unique 'visual autobiography' was finally realized this year.

These days he likes to mull over the curious ideas of Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta and Huang Po.

In his spare time, Brendan does nothing.
